The Library contains information for your own personal use. Please be aware of the terms contained in the Copyright section below. The Forums include the ability for readers to add their own comments. Health:mk  encourage you to respond, sharing your thoughts and experiences. We just ask that your comments are constructive, polite and tasteful.

Access to the Library and access and contribution to the Forums require you to register and login prior to using these services. The use of these services are subject to specific rules contained in the information below which you should read prior to accessing these pages.

By using the website and/or registering to use the Library and Forums you will be deemed to accept these Term of Use.

Health:mk Ltd is the data controller of your personal details for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Your obligations to us.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information to us when registering to use the Library and Forums and when using these services subsequently. You agree that you will comply with any reasonable instructions or directions issued by us from time to time concerning access to the Library and Forums and that you will only use these services in a manner consistent with these Terms of Use.

You agree that you will not use the website, the Library or the Forums for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.

Comments Policy

The Forums on the website include the ability for readers to add their own comments. Health:mk Ltd encourage you to respond, sharing your thoughts and experiences. We just ask that your comments are constructive, polite and tasteful.

We reserve the right (on behalf of ourselves and any moderator which we may appoint) not put on the website or delete any comments you submit if, in our view, you have not complied with the rules of conduct set out below.

  • You should not name any individuals (other than yourself) or include information through which someone else could identify such an individual. If you want to comment on someone else’s experience, (e.g. a relative or someone you care for) then you may do so if you ensure that you are not named in the posting and you state how the other person is connected to you (e.g. “a patient” or  ‘my father’).
  • Do not write comments that are unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually suggestive or racist, homophobic, sexist or inciting of hatred against any group. No comment with swearing or profanity will be published. Do not incite people to commit any crime, including incitement of racial hatred. Comments advocating criminal or immoral activities will not be allowed. Impersonating someone is unacceptable. You are legally liable for the things you write, so read your comments prior to posting them. Your comments should be truthful and reflect your honestly held opinions. Health:mk is legally liable for publishing the comments but you could also be sued for making them.
  • You should not use our comments feature to make complaints about individual hospitals or treatment centres where the matter should be dealt with under the NHS complaints procedures.
  • Passwords allocated to you must be kept secret and must not be disclosed to others.

If you find any comments offensive or objectionable you may make a complaint by contacting health:mk at the address below. Violation of any of the rules above may lead to your comment being rejected and an order to block correspondence from your e-mail address. We also reserve the right to delete any comment, at any time, and for any reason.

You agree to indemnify us and our Agents against all losses (including, without limitation, legal costs) we may incur as a result of any breach by you of these Terms of Use.

We reserve the right (on behalf of ourselves and any moderator which we may appoint) to edit, not put on the website or delete any comments you submit if, in our view, you have not complied with the rules of conduct set out in the Terms of Use. We have the right to prevent you from using the Forums by withdrawing your password at and time and without prior notification, if you violate any of the rules contained in these Terms of Use. 

We reserve the right at any time, in our sole discretion, to make any changes to these Terms of Use. Any changes will be notified to you electronically or by our publishing the revised Terms of Use on the server. By continuing to use the website you agree to be bound by such changes.

These Terms of Use are to be interpreted in accordance with English law and, in the event of any dispute, you and we irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
