We aim to include the views and suggestions of the public in the commissioning of services. This is facilitated by a strong partnership with the Patient and Public Involvement Forum which has links to over 400 self help, voluntary and support groups in Milton Keynes.
We also work closely with our partners in health and social care which includes Milton Keynes Hospital, Milton Keynes Local Authority and Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust.
Here are some of the partners we are currently working with on different projects:
LINks
Milton Keynes Hospital
NHS Milton Keynes (formerly Milton Keynes PCT)
Milton Keynes Council
LMC
We also work with local groups such as the Milton Keynes Childrens Trust as required. Details about this national initiative can be found on their website www.mkchildrenstrust.org
IMPACTE groups (Improving Medical Practice by Assessing Current Evidence) are held in GP practices across Milton Keynes.
These groups are grounded in everyday practice and generate stimulating discussions in an informal and supportive atmosphere to encourage an examination of the current evidence and how it can influence clinical practice and patient care.
For more information on IMPACTE, where groups are currently taking place, how to set up a group in your practice or how you could join in the IMPACTE online forum see www.qualitymk.nhs.uk/impacte_groups.htm
